Brussels: The Comic City

Hi guys! I’m finishing up my month here in Brussels, and my trip to Israel is coming near. For this trips travel article, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite things to do in Brussels. Let’s go!

Magritte Museum AND the gift shop – Rue de la Régence 3

Museum of Musical Instruments – Rue Montagne de la Cour 2

Galerie des Minimes – Rue des Minimes 23

Café Capitale (café allongé) – Ernest Allardstraat 41

La Grainerie (iced coffee) – Rue de Tenbosch 112

Cafés Delahaut (espresso) – Rue du Marché aux Herbes 81

Cafe de la Presse – Louizalaan 493

Food Frit Flagey (frites) – Place Eugène Flagey

Therese et Dominique (sandwiches) – Rue Dejoncker 23

COCO Donuts – Rue Saint-Anne 36

Maison Dandoy (speculoos) – Rue au Beurre 31

Other Places

Make sure you head over to the Galleries de Bruxelles for some shopping and street performers. You’re likely to be welcomed into this Gringott/Diagon Alley center to the sound of jazz coming from the streets behind you. Inside the galleries, you will find toy stores, libraries, sweet shops and hat shops. Check out the exciting window displays to see if you want to explore the store further.

Stroll along les Étangs d’Ixelles (Ponds of Ixelles) and admire the birds as they swim around gleefully.

Le Botanique is a beautiful art and music venue with a luscious garden. It’s a beautiful place to spend an afternoon.

Go see the Grand Place twice. See it one in the day, where you can admire the baroque architecture of the buildings surrounding you. Then again at night, to see the lights illuminate the Town Hall and make it come to life.
There you have it! I’ll be coming out with a Tel Aviv and Cairo travel article soon, so be sure to stay tuned. Remember, if you do any of the things I’ve recommended, send me a picture of tag me @elenalovegood
